Scoring, Varsity Progression, and Trophies

Novice Point Trophy Scoring:

The winning crew in the head race will get 17 points.  Each spot after that will be worth one point less, down to one point for the last-place crew.  The two highest-placing crews from each team will count toward the team score (if a school has crews receiving 15, 10, 7, and 3 points, respectively, the team score will be 25).

Varsity Progression from Head Race to 2000M Races

The two fastest crews in the head race from each school will advance to the 2000M races.  The six fastest crews overall, after the two fastest from each school have been selected, will also advance, for a total of 20 entrants in the 2000M races.  The 20 crews will then be ranked in order of finish in the head race.  The four fastest will race in the A Final, the next four fastest will race in the B Final, the next four fastest will race in the C Final, the next four fastest will race in the D Final, and the remaining four will race in the E Final.

Varsity Point Trophy Scoring:

The winner of the A Final will receive 20 points, second will receive 19, third will receive 18, and so on, down to 4 for the winner of the E Final and 1 for fourth place in the E Final.  The two highest-placing crews from each team will count toward the team score.
